- L.I.L. is a program designed to engage students in our school community in foundational athletic principals. Its purpose is two-fold. First, we wish to provide an opportunity for our students and families to engage in activities that they would otherwise be doing outside of our community. Second, we wish to support our students with what we believe are positive and productive lessons in fundamentals, teamwork and sportsmanship.
  
  Two factors will determine if this league will operate next year. Player participation is vital, however of equal importance is that we will need parent volunteers to coach. If you are interested in coaching or asst. coaching at any grade level, please contact us at: [email protected]

  Important Notes About LIL Sports
  
  LIL is an instructional league. Its purpose is to teach the fundamentals of the game as well as foster of love of sports and comradery among our Laker community. While competition will be introduced in the course of practice and games, it is not the focus of this league.
  
  LIL is a volunteer fueled organization. Teams must have coaches to run, and coaches must commit to be present for all or most of the scheduled events. please email your teams contact to volunteer.
  
  Laker credits are available for named coaches only (head and assistant). While we appreciate help along the way and parents welcome to assist, Laker credits will not be given to parents who help on only one or two occasions.
  
  Parents of regular ESH students must communicate with Mrs. Forton regarding your child's participation in these sports. ESH staff will determine the process for drop off. Parents must be present to pick up students after practice unless otherwise discussed with ESH staff.
  
  ESH students MUST check in at ESH before leaving to attend a practice. This is to ensure a chain of custody and the safety of our students.
  
  If students are not regular ESH kids, parents MUST pick up after school and transport them to their practice location. LIL Coaches are not able to pick them up from class, and teachers are not permitted to hand off students to anyone other than ESH staff or parent or other adult previously indicated in the student record.
  
  Any canceled practices due to school not being in sessions will be provided at the beginning of the season.

  Registration policies
  
  It is important that we obtain accurate counts for our upcoming sports seasons. In order to ensure that our teams are staffed appropriately and that we are able to provide sufficient resources for our players, the following terms apply.
  
  1. Sports registration payment must be made in a timely manner. Athletes will not be permitted to compete in contests until payment has been cleared, or an arrangement to pay has been made with the Athletic office.
  
  2. Players may choose to participate in any of our sports. However, we ask that students only register for sports that they intend to play. Consider your registration as a promise to participate and a promise to pay.
  
  3. OLL is bound by CYO, Catholic League, and MHSAA rules and regulations. Additionally, the OLL student and athlete codes of conduct must be followed at all times. These rules may from time to time result in players becoming ineligible by their own actions.
  
  4. The sports registration fee permits students to play on one or many athletic teams. There will not be discounts for players who only play one sport, or players who intend to play multiple sports, but change their mind.
